Grammy award winning, ground-breaking progressive rock band YES will return to the road this summer. The band will perform 24 very special live concerts with a stop at the San Jose Civic on August 14th. YES features a line-up of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Alan White, keyboardist Geoff Downes and new lead singer Jon Davison. SAN JOSE, CA (May 2, 2012) --The City of San Jose is declaring May 7-13 “CLEO: 2012 Week” in recognition of the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO). The convention brings a welcomed annual $5.2 million shot in the arm for the local economy. CLEO will return to San Jose in 2013 and 2014 attracting approximately 5,000 attendees annually, which Team San Jose estimates will generate 20,417 room nights, 15,000 visitors to San Jose and $15.5M visitor spending over three years.

Mark your calendar for a musical event like no other—monsters making music! Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and all their Sesame Street friends are taking to the stage to share their love of music in Sesame Street Live “Elmo Makes Music” at San Jose Civic from Thursday, April 26 through Saturday, April 28.

Tickets for all six performances go on sale Wednesday, March 21 at 10:00 AM. Jenny, an enthusiastic new music teacher, arrives on Sesame Street only to discover that her instruments are missing.

Legendary composer and performer Yanni’s contemporary symphonic music has inspired millions of fans around the world. In concert, his passionate, soaring melodies and lush orchestration create a spirited and uplifting musical experience like no other. Yanni kicks off a world tour on April 17 with a North American itinerary, which makes a stop at the San Jose Civic on July 24.

Following the completion of the North American dates, Yanni will tour South America in fall 2012. In 2013, he will embark on a multi-city tour of China.

(March 2, 2012) – At the inaugural year of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Membership luncheon, the organization named Airport Director and Team San Jose CEO Bill Sherry as Businessman of the Year at an awards ceremony this afternoon. Sherry, the Director of Aviation at Mineta San Jose International Airport as well as CEO of Team San Jose, has been recognized for outstanding results related to managing the Airport, leading the re-invigoration of Team San Jose and overseeing the San Jose Convention Center expansion and renovation project that broke ground in 2011.
