San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and Team San Jose Board of Directors Participate in YWCA of Silicon Valley's
"Walk a Mile in Her Shoes"

Event brings awareness to the problem of sexual assault in the community

SAN JOSE, CA. - April 4, 2007 TThe San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and Team San Jose CEO and Board Members demonstrated their support of YWCA of Silicon Valley's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.

"This is an important event to bring awareness to a serious issue in a lighthearted way," said Dan Fenton, CEO of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and CEO and Chairman of Team San Jose.

John Southwell, General Manager of the Hilton San Jose, Clif Clark, General Manager of the San Jose Marriott and Dan Fenton, CEO of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and CEO and Chairman of Team San Jose walked together to support the YWCA's Rape Crisis Center and bring awareness to sexual assault in our community.

"It is great to see so many community and business leaders standing together to support the YWCA of Silicon Valley," said John Southwell, General Manager of the Hilton San Jose, "I am proud to have been a co-chair of this year's event."

Supporters met in downtown San Jose and walked "in her shoes" through downtown and ended at the YWCA of Silicon Valley. In addition to Board Members walking in the event, Team San Jose also sponsored the reception for the supporters following the event.
