San Jose Celebrates a Month of Romance with the Arts
Theatre, Ballet and Opera Lovers: Romance is in the Air

SAN JOSE, CA. - February 1, 2007— Team San Jose and the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau welcome February theatre, ballet and opera performances to an already hot list of events for San Jose visitors. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with three romantic art and cultural experiences warming up downtown San Jose.

Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot, starring Michael York as King Arthur, is currently showing at the Center for Performing Arts until February 11, 2007. This enchanting production is a classic story of love, romance and honor proving chivalry is not forgotten. This performance is presented by The American Musical Theatre of San Jose.

Opera San Jose is proud to present La Traviata, one of the world’s most famous operas. The music and costumes will take your heart as the story of a couple’s love and loss is told with some of the most gorgeous music ever written. The California Theatre’s first opera of the New Year sets the stage with La Traviata. The opera performance Madama Butterfly will follow in April.

Ballet San Jose presents Valentine Potpourri, including four separately choreographed pieces featuring Ontogeny, Le Style Classique, Il Distratto, and September. The program’s diverse pieces will entertain ballet lovers ending with a dance about a relationship gone wrong.
