Team San Jose to Host Official Unveiling of New Sign

SAN JOSE, CA. -July 19, 2006—Team San Jose is proud to announce the unveiling of a new jumbotron sign at the entrance of San Jose McEnery Convention Center facing San Carlos Street. The sign, by manufacturer Barco, will replace the old sign that has been serving the Convention Center since 1989.

The City of San Jose funded the state of the art electronic sign that is 50 percent larger in size than the old sign.

The official unveiling will take place at 2:30 PST Monday, July 24. Members of Team San Jose's Board of Directors and the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau will be in attendance in addition to elected officials that were instrumental in securing the funding for the convention center's newest asset. Team San Jose CEO Dan Fenton will make opening comments and officially flip the “on” switch that will unveil the full color, action display. “The new sign provides endless opportunities for our clients and helps to change the face of the convention center,” Fenton said.

The Barco sign includes capabilities to feature pictures, live feed, and graphics. This new sign will display upcoming events at the McEnery Convention Center, as well as events taking place in the surrounding cultural facilities.

Please join Team San Jose, the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of San Jose for the revealing of this long awaited sign.
